Let's suppose you have recorded a TV show using your TV tuner software. There are probably a lot of commercials in that recording. That's why the video file may take up a lot of useless space on the hard disk. Thus, it would be a good idea to remove all those unwanted elements from the video file. The Windows operating system features an application for editing video files, called Windows Movie Maker, but unfortunately, the program lacks a lot of features and offers support for few video file types. A much better solution is Able MPEG2 Editor. As the name states, the program is able to work with MPEG2 files. These are generally DVD files.

The program supports almost any version of the Windows operating system and can be installed by anyone in the shortest time possible. Besides that, it takes up little hard disk space and it's gentle with the system resources.

The interface of Able MPEG2 Editor has a graphical form and facilitates opening video files. This operation can be made either by using the classical menu or the graphical buttons. After having imported the desired video file, the user can select the start and end positions of if for how many times he wants.

All these positions will be displayed in a list in the interface and clicking on any of them will take the user to that exact location in the movie. After setting the desired starting and ending points, one can save the video as several files, each one containing the selected starting and ending time.

Pros

It features a simple interface that allows anyone to set the starting and ending positions for a loaded movie for an unlimited number of times. Besides that, the movie can be previewed directly from the interface using a built-in player.

Cons

The number of video formats supported by the program is very limited. Besides that, the trial version can only handle the first start and end positions. Able MPEG2 Editor is a nice software for cutting unwanted parts from any MPEG video.
